Debit MasterCard® Compromise - 01/18/2007
We have been informed by MasterCard of a large-scale account data compromise by a major national retailer, involving all credit and debit card brands, including Central Bank Debit MasterCards.
At this point, it appears the breach involves millions of card accounts across all major payment brands by this retailer.
In response, Central Bank is taking immediate action to protect any of our customers whose card information may have been compromised in this event. We will notify you if your card number information may have been compromised as a result of this breach. We will also issue you a new Central Bank Debit MasterCard with a different card number.
However, it is always a good idea for all customers to review their Debit MasterCard activity to determine if there has been any unauthorized activity.

- How do I know if my card was impacted?
MasterCard has provided Central Bank with a list of cards which may have been impacted. We will notify you by letter and we will issue you a new Central Bank Debit MasterCard with a different card number as a precaution. - What measures should I take to protect my account?
It is always a good idea for all customers to review their account activity frequently using your account statement, Online Banking or Telephone Banking (1-800-425-2265) to determine if there has been any unauthorized. You should notify us as soon as you become aware of any questionable activity. - What do I need to do when I receive my card?
Call the card activation number (1-800-425-2265) to activate your new card. - Watch for your PIN mailer with your new PIN that will come separately in the mail. If you prefer, you can visit one of our branches to select your own PIN.
- In the event that you have any automatic charges to your Card, such as a monthly internet, phone, utility company or other service fee, please remember to contact the originators of these charges and give them your new card number.
